The Holiday Inn Amana Colonies home to the Wasserbahn Waterpark Resort and is only 7 miles from the famous Amana Colonies.
Designed with a frontier building facade, the on-site 11,000 sq. ft. Wasserbahn Waterpark Resort is for guests only and the room rate includes waterpark access for five registered guests.
The park includes a 4 story twin body slide tower with windows that allow a rooftop view of the Iowa countryside. Two slides are fully enclosed and wrap around outside of the hotel before coming indoors. The 257 ft. slide is for beginners and the 179 ft. slide means a steeper and wilder ride for the more adventurous. Also at the waterpark is a wading pool with zero depth beach entry, 160 gallon dump bucket with a 5 ft. water drop, bullfrog spray hoop, geysers and arch jets for younger children.
For older children and adults, Wasserbahn offers an activity pool with basketball hoop, a waterwalk that allows you to walk over the pool area, a vortex pool, sauna and whirlpool with waterfall.
The Wooden Nickel Arcade offers state-of-the-art video games and a redemption center allows high scoring winners to cash in tokens for prizes. There is also an 18-hole miniature golf course on-site.
